What we have been up to!

Thankfully, things could only look up from the year 2020. We left behind a year of uncertainty and disruption, and we have been working on some really exciting new projects since the start of 2021.

It’s always great for prospective and current customers to hear about what we have been working on and for us to be able to share our diverse portfolio with you!

Upton Park Rejuvenation Works – On behalf of SWISCo

Back in February, we began works at this run-down area in Torbay. Once a hub of social activity, the area was in bad shape, and the council’s vision was to transform it back into a bright open space, to create a variety of social benefits.

Alongside works to the tree lines to increase light levels and to enhance the space within the park, we were responsible for transforming the old and run-down netball courts back to their former glory and resurfacing the footpaths throughout the area to make them welcoming and safe for locals and visitors alike. It was a brilliant project that spanned over a few months and the finished product has created a real buzz around the community – (including one or two members of our staff that are appreciating the newly resurfaced netball courts in all of their glory!)

Dartmoor Zoo Resurfacing Works – On behalf of Dartmoor Zoological Charity

We had the pleasure of undertaking substantial works to both the internal and external car park areas and footpaths of Dartmoor Zoo in the summer of this year.

Dartmoor Zoological Park is a registered charity especially created for the care, conservation, breeding and research of all the animals it homes.

The works required a large amount of initial civils preparation to excavate soft areas, construct new gullies, and to plane off existing surfaces ready for the tarmac to be overlaid. We finished off the look with some fresh white lining and even a little bit of creative artwork on the zebra crossing!

It was a really rewarding project that bought together all divisions of our business – including DTM Grab hire who popped along to clear the area when we had finished doing our bit!

Langage South Park Business Park – On behalf of Unit Build

This new 7-acre business park based in the heart of Plymouth started construction in early 2021 and will be home to 33 new commercial units, whilst creating a wealth of employment throughout the local area.

Our works are ongoing, but since the beginning of the year, we have been busy prepping and surfacing the car parking areas, to ensure smooth access for workers and visitors alike.

We still have plenty more footpaths, access lanes and parking areas to work our magic on and has been a really great project for our machine gang to get their teeth stuck into!

Head over to our new portfolio page on our website to check out all the above projects and more – a picture speaks a thousand words!
